Kenya southern Journey

Day 1
TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Guests will be picked up early from their hotel and transferred to the Mtito Andei Railway Station for a 08h00 departure on the Madaraka Express to the Mtito Andei Railway Station. Upon arrival, visitors will be met by the Sense of Africa driver-guide who will assist with the transfer to Tsavo West National Park.

The park is a vast expanse of African savannah with a diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, and the Chyulu Hills. Other ecosystems of Tsavo West are open grasslands, scrublands, acacia woodlands, riverine vegetation and rocky ridges. This diversity means a variety of wildlife for guests to see. There is magnificent game viewing of elephant, giraffe rhino, hippo, lions, cheetah, leopards, buffalos, diverse plant and bird species, and for the keen birders, the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra reed warbler. Arrive at Kilaguni Serena Lodge in time for lunch, and then enjoy a later afternoon game drive.

Day 2
TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy breakfast before going on the first game drive of the day. The varied habitats of Tsavo West National Park offer the ideal area to search for lion, buffalo, cheetah, and many plains game, as well as providing a diverse array of bird species. The Mzima Springs is made up of four natural springs, the source of which is underneath the Chyulu Hills. The spring is a popular attraction in the Tsavo West due to the large numbers of hippo and Nile crocodiles that gather here, along with other wildlife, due to it being the main water source for many kilometres. It is a perfect place to stop and watch the wildlife antics. Guests enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 3

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Guests depart for an early morning game drive before having breakfast at the lodge. Afterwards, guests will leave the Tsavo West National Park and head north along the border to Amboseli National Park.

Amboseli National Park is one of the best places in Africa outside of Chobe to view large herds of elephant, as well as being home to a large variety of other wildlife. One of the most notable attractions of the park is the opportunity for guests to meet and interact with local Maasai people and learn about their way of life and culture. Guests arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, and later, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge – Lunch, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 4
AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Spend a full day in Amboseli National Park, with scheduled morning and late afternoon shared game drives. Amboseli National Park lies below the most famous symbol of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world, rewarding visitors with stunning views when the weather is clear.

The park is home to large herds of elephant, as well as affords guests great opportunities to see lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, and more. For the bird lover, there are 400 species to try and spot.

Day 5
DEPARTURE
Guests enjoy an early breakfast travelling to the Emali Railway Station to board the morning train back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, guests are met by a Sense of Africa representative, who will assist with the transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for further travel.
